Cornflower

One of my favourite things to photograph are flowers, however the British weather is often a huge preventative factor in getting decent shots! I shot this using my Sigma 70-300mm in Macro mode, however it’s not a true macro lens so magnification isn’t what it should be, and the long telephoto means that I need to use a fast shutter speed of at least 1/300sec to avoid camera shake so I’m limited to shooting on bright sunny days. An 85mm or 105mm dedicated Macro prime lens is next on my list of purchases, however in the mean time I just open the aperture right up and shoot in burst mode.
